نُخَبَةٌ

(As, S, K) and نُخْبَةٌ (AM, K), the former the more approved word, (TA,) Chosen; choice; select; preferred; excellent; best: or what is chosen, &c.: (K:) i. q. نُجَبَةٌ, q. v.: (S:) plural of the former نُخَبٌ. (S.) Ex. جَاءَ فى نُخَبِ أَصْحَابِهِ He came with the best of his companions. (S.) نخبةُ المَتَاعِ The choice part of the goods, or utensils, &c.; what was drawn, or taken, out from them. (TA.)
2.
A company, or troop, chosen, or selected, and drawn out, from the men. Ex., from a tradition, خَرَجْنَا فِى النُّخَبَةِ We went forth with the chosen band. (TA.)
