قَابِسٌ

[act. particle n. of 1; Taking fire; a taker of fire; &c. Hence the saying,] مَا أَنْتَ إِلَّا
كالقَابِسِ العَجْلَانِ [Thou art none other than like the hasty taker of fire]. (A.)
