اقلد البَحْرُ عَلَيْهِمْ

(tropical:) The sea drowned them. (K.) اقلد البحر على خَلْقٍ كَثِيرٍ (tropical:) The sea drowned a great number of people; as though it closed upon them: (S, L:) or, closed upon them, and covered them, when they were drowned therein. (A.)
