الرَّفْرَافُ

The bird called خَاطِفُ ظِلِّهِ. (Ibn-Selemeh, S, O, K. [See article خطَفَ.]) And sometimes, (S,) The male ostrich: (T, S, M, O, K:) because (S) he flaps his wings (يُرَفْرِفُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ) and then runs. (T, S, O.)
