A woman whose state of bereavement is constant: (K:) or who is in a state of bereavement: (TA:) plural مَثَاكِيلُ (K) [or this is plural of مِثْكَالٌ]. Hence, نِسَاءُ الغُزَاةِ مَثَاكِيلُ [The wives of the warriors are constantly bereft, or often bereft, of their husbands]. (TA.)
