زُرَّقٌ

A certain bird used for catching other birds; (IDrd, S, K;) between the [species of hawk called] بَازِى
and the
بَاشَق [or sparrow-hawk]: (IDrd, TA:) or, according to Fr, the white
بَازِى [or falcon]: (S, TA:) [but] it is said in the A, لَا يُقَاسُ الزُّرَّقُ بِالأَزْرَقِ [The
زُرَّق
is not to be compared with the
أَزْرَق], which latter is the بازى: (TA:) the plural is زَرَارِيقُ. (S, K.)
