Hence, (A, TA,) An upper chamber; synonym غُرْفَةٌ; (S, A, Msb, K, TA;) and عُِلِّيَّةٌ; (S, * K;) both of which signify the same; (MF, TA;) because people drink therein; (A, TA;) as also مَشْرُبَةٌ: (S, Msb, K, TA:) plural مَشَارِبُ, (TA,) synonym with عَلَالِىُّ, (S,) and مَشْرَبَاتٌ. (TA.)

And the former, (K, TA,) not, as is implied in the K, the latter also, (TA,) A صُفَّة [i. e. roofed vestibule or the like]: (K, TA:) or the like of a صُفَّة in the front of a غُرْفَة [explained above]. (TA.)

Also the former, (K, TA,) not, as is implied in the K, both words, (TA,) Soft, or plain, land, in which is always herbage, (K, TA,) i. e. green and juicy herbage. (TA.)
