عِضَةٌ
1.
2.
3.
Also A lie, or falsehood: plural عِضُونَ. (K) In this sense, (TA,) as singular of the last word in the saying in the Qur'an, 15:91, الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْانَ عِضِينَ, its deficient [radical] letter is و or ه, as has been mentioned in article عضه [q. v.]: (S, TA:) those who say that it is و regard as an evidence its having for a plural عِضَوَاتٌ; and those who say that it is ه regard as an evidence their saying عَضِيهَةٌ. (TA.)
4.
العِضُونَ as meaning السِّحْرُ [i. e. Enchantment, in the CK (erroneously) الشَّجَرُ,] is [said to be] plural of عِضَهٌ [in the CK عِضَة], with ه. (K. [But see عِضَهٌ, in article عضه.])
