عَوَرَةٌ

عَوَرٌ [q. v.]: (O:) [it is mentioned in the S as a subst., and apparently, from the context, as signifying عَوَرٌ, i. e. A blindness of one eye: (but explained by Golius as meaning the succession of a worse after a better:) after the mention of رَجُلٌ أَعْوَرُ, and the phrase بَدَلٌ أَعْوَرُ and خَلَفٌ أَعْوَرُ, in the S, it is added, وَالاِسْمُ العَوَرَةُ, or, according to one copy, العَوْرَةُ; and then follows, وَقَدْ عَارَتِ العَيْنُ.]
