مَحْسَنَةٌ

[A cause of good: plural, apparently, مَحَاسِنُ; like as مَسَاوٍ, originally مَسَاوِيءُ, is said to be plural of مَسَاءَةٌ, originally مَسْوَأَةٌ]. You say, هٰذَا الطَّعَامُ مَحْسَنَةٌ لِلْجِسْمِ [This food is a cause of good, i. e. beneficial, to the body]. (S.)
