Also He kept, preserved, guarded, or protected, him. (TA.)

And اقات عَلَى الشَّىْءِ, (S, O, K, *) and اقاته, (K,) He had power, or ability, to do, effect, accomplish, attain, or compass, the thing. (S, O, K.)
