مَرْبُوبٌ

Also A slave; a bondman; synonym مَمْلُوكٌ [lit. possessed, and now particularly applied to a male white slave]. (M, K.) العِبَادُ مَرْبُوبُونَ لِلّٰهِ means [Mankind (lit. the servants of God) are] bondmen (مَمْلُوكُونَ) [to God]. (M.)
