A certain festival of the Christians; (K;) that of the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven: (TK:) derived from سَلَقَ الحَايءِطَ [explained above (see 5)]: said by IDrd to be a foreign word (أَعْجَمَىٌّ), and in one place said by him to be Syriac, arabicized. (TA.)
