سَمَّالٌ

[One who puts out the eyes of others]. A certain tribe were called بَنُو السَّمَّالِ, (M, K, *) or بَنُو سَمَّالٍ, (S, TA,) because their founder had put out the eye of a man. (S, M, K.)
