عَالٍ

[Hence,] رَجُلٌ عَالِى الكَعْبِ (assumed tropical:) A man who is elevated, exalted, eminent, or noble. (K. [See also كَعْبٌ.]) It is said in a tradition respecting Keyleh, لَا يَزَالُ كَعْبُكِ عَالَيًا, meaning May thou not cease to be elevated, or noble; exalted above such as treats, or regards, thee with enmity. (TA.)

مِنْ عَالٍ signifies the same as مِنْ عَلِ, q. v. (S, K.)

عَالِيَةُ الدَّمِ, said of the حَايءِض, means One whose blood rises above the water. (TA.)

[عَالٍ applied to a word, or form of word, signifies (assumed tropical:) Of high authority, approved, or chaste: and hence, usual, or common: see أَعْلَى.]
