عَايءِلٌ

One says أَمْرٌ عَايءِلٌ and عَالٍ, the latter being formed by transposition, meaning [An affair, or event,] hard to be borne, severe, or distressing, and great, or formidable. (TA.)

عَايءِلٌ applied to a measure of capacity means Exceeding others. (IAar, TA in article عيل.)
