ادارهُ

, (S, M, A, K,) and دوّرهُ, (M, A, K,) and بِهِ دَارَ, (M, TA,) and بِهِ دوّر, (S, K,) and اَدَارَ بِهِ, and استدار, (M, K,) He, or it, made, or caused, him, or it, to go, move, or turn, round; to circle; to revolve; to return to the place from which he, or it, began to move. (TA.) You say, أَدَارَ العِمَامَةَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ [He wound the turban round upon his head]. (A.) And ادار الزَّعْفَرَانَ فِى المَاءِ [He stirred round the saffron in the water, in dissolving it]. (A and TA in article دوم.) And
بِهِ دَوَايءِرُ الزَّمَانِ دَارَتْ
[The revolutions of fortune, or time, made him to turn round from one state, or condition, to another]. (A.) And بِهِ دِيرَ, and أُدِيرَ بِهِ, (S, A, K,) and عَلَيْهِ دِيرَ (K,) [the first and second lit. signifying He was made to turn round; by which, as by the third also, is meant] he became affected by a vertigo, or giddiness in the head. ادارهُ عَلَى الأَمْرِ He endeavoured [to turn him to the thing, i. e.] to induce him to do the thing: and ادارهُ عَنْهُ he endeavoured [to turn him from it, i. e.] to induce him to leave, or relinquish, it; (T, A;) or i. q. لَاوَصَهُ; as also دَاوَرَهُ, q. v. (M, K.)

إِدَارَةٌ [the verbal noun] also signifies The giving and taking, from hand to hand, without delay: and agreeably with this explanation is rendered the phrase in the Qur'an, 2:282, لِجَارَةٌ حَاضِرَةٌ تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ Ready merchandise, which ye give and take among yourselves, from hand to hand, without delay; i. e., not on credit]. (TA.)
