Blackness; (S, TA;) the colour denoted by the epithet أَحَمُّ [q. v.]: (S, K:) a colour between دُهْمَة [or blackness] and كمْتَة [or a blackish red], inferior [in depth, or brightness,] to what is termed حُوَّة [apparently as meaning redness inclining to blackness]. (M, K.)
