[He fanned]. You say, روّح عَلَيْهِبِالمِرْوَحَةِ [He fanned him with the fan]. (A, TA.) And اِحْتَاجُوا إِلَى التَّرْوِيحِ مِنَ الحَرِّ بِالمِرْوَحَةِ [They required to be fanned, by reason of the heat, with the fan]. (TA.)

Also, (A, Msb,) verbal noun تَرْوِيحٌ, (Msb,) He perfumed oil; rendered it sweet in odour, (A, Msb,) by putting perfume in it. (Msb.)

روّح بِهِمْ, (A, Mgh, Msb,) verbal noun as above, (A, Msb,) He performed with them the prayers termedالتَّرَاوِيح. (A, Mgh, Msb.)
