مُعْقَبٌ

[appears, from what here follows, to be used for مُعْقَبٌ حَالُهُ i. e. One whose state is changed]. IAar cites as an example of this word,
كُلُّ حَىٍّ مُعْقَبٌ عُقَبَا
meaning [Every living being] comes to a state different from that in which he was [by turns, or time after time]. (TA.)
